Windows movie maker is a program which helps you to make videos, the sort of videos you can then upload on to Youtube.
In this blog I will tell you how you can use it.
1. How to start it.
Go to start.
A pop up men will appear then click on all programs.
Then from the next menu, click on the “Movie maker” icon.
You should then see a screen like this.
You have now opened movie maker, now time to learn how to use it.
2. Putting in pictures.
Click on the “Add videos and photos” icon.
Then next you should click on your “Pictures” folder in the next screen.
If you have videos in your “videos” folder e.g. things you have recorded from your mobile and simply want to upload that, all you have to do is to go to “Videos”, find your video file, which you should have stored on your “Vidoes” folder and then click on “Open” and it will go Movie maker and then you can save and upload it.
You have clicked on the “Pictures” folder and even if you don’t have anything in your “Pictures” folder you will at least have a “Sample pictures” folder pre-installed by Windows, so click on that. If you want to use pictures you already have from your camera or phone go to the file(s) where they are stored. If you want to use images from the internet, this blog (click here) tells you how to do that.
For the purpose of this exercise I would like you to put all the pictures you see in the folder in to the video. This is to give you practise and help you develop your experience.
You do that by selecting a picture and then clicking on the “Open” button on the bottom right.
You will then see your video look like this.
Now repeat the same process you used to put this picture by clicking on the “Add videos and photos” icon, going to the “Sample pictures” folder and chosing another picture.
Once you click on “open”, the yellow tulips picture will go in to your video after the first picture. You can chose any picture you wish. I have however chosen the yellow tulips. Your video will now look like this.
You have learnt how to put pictures in to your video, in the next blog in this series, I will show you how to put music.
Thanks for reading, hope you found this useful and have a great day!
